Privacy Statement—Protecting Your Personal Details
CV Ireland is committed to safeguarding your privacy. Our Privacy Statement is designed to help you understand how we collect and utilise your personal information, and to assist you in making informed decisions when using our site, products, and services. If you would like to get in touch with us about the contents of this Privacy Statement and the ways in which we handle your information, please scroll to the bottom of this page. We deeply respect your fundamental rights to privacy, and appreciate your constructive feedback at all times.
How Do You Protect My Credit Card Details During the Checkout Process?
When making a purchase, your credit card details are processed by PayPal, one of the world's largest online payment services. The security of your information, transactions, and money is 100% guaranteed.
PayPal automatically encrypts your information in transit from your computer to theirs using the Secure Sockets Layer protocol (SSL) with an encryption key length of 128-bits (the highest level commercially available).
Once your information reaches PayPal, it resides on a server that is heavily guarded—both physically and electronically. PayPal's servers sit behind a firewall, and are not directly connected to the Internet, so your private information is available only to authorised computers and the accounting department of CV Ireland.
PayPal protected pages have addresses that start with HTTPS instead of HTTP, and cause a padlock icon to be displayed on the bottom right hand corner of your browser, assuring you of a secure transaction.
What Information Does This Site Collect?
When you visit our site, you may provide us with two types of information: personal information you knowingly choose to disclose (collected on an individual basis), and site usage information (collected on an overall basis as you and others browse our pages).

When you use our CV Creation Centre or Cover Letter Creation Centre, we collect personal information concerning your contact details, career history and educational background. If you choose to correspond with us through e-mail by clicking on a link, submitting a form, or utilising our CV Evaluation or Second Life CV Assessment services we may retain the content of your e-mail messages on our computer systems, together with your e-mail address and our responses.
Newsletter Signup
If you decide to sign up for our monthly newsletter, we will retain your e-mail address in a mailing database until such time as you choose to unsubscribe. |
How Do You Use Information This Site Collects with Web Server Logs?
Our Web server's log files allow us to calculate the overall number of people visiting our site, and to determine which parts of the site are most popular. This helps us gather feedback in order to constantly improve our site and better serve our customers. Web server logs do not allow us to glean any personal information about you.
How Do You Use the Personal Information That I Knowingly Choose to Disclose?
As a customer, we use the information you provide to process your payment, provide one-on-one consultations concerning your CV or cover letter, update you on the status of your purchase, deliver your CV or cover letter, and communicate with you about your account.
As a customer, e-mail correspondent or newsletter subscriber, we use the information you provide to send you a copy of Passport, our monthly career advice newsletter, via e-mail. We may also use your e-mail address to alert you about important changes to our site, new products and services, and special offers.
You may opt out of these alerts and/or the newsletter whenever you wish simply by clicking on the unsubscribe link which appears at the end of every communication we send out. You can resubscribe at any time.
Do You Sell Your Customers' Personal Information to Third Parties?
We do not sell, trade, rent, or otherwise commercially retransmit any personal information we collect online unless we have your explicit written permission.
Under What Situations Will You Disclose My Personal Information?
We may disclose your personal information if such action is necessary to:
(a) comply with legal requirements or garda investigation;
(b) protect and defend our rights and property, the Site, the users of the Site, and/or affiliated parties; or

Requests for access to personal information are known as subject access requests. All subject access requests must be made in writing, using our Subject Access Request form.
How Can I Modify or Erase My Personal Information?
Following a Subject Access Request, to which we are obliged to respond within forty calendar days, you may:
(a)
ask us to alter your personal information if the data we have on file proves to be inaccurate; or
(b)
instruct us to delete your information from our systems if we do not possess a valid reason for storing it.
What Happens If Changes Are Made To This Statement?
