What Is Second Life?

Second Life is many things to many people. For some it is an exciting new way to enjoy social networking; for others, it is a vehicle to artistic expression. For the business community, it is a platform that allows companies to reach out to their customers in an innovative, engaging and thoroughly immersive fashion.

As always, CV Ireland has been quick to utilise this cutting edge breakthrough in technology—we are the world's first CV consultancy to establish a presence in the virtual world, officially opened to the public on 1st March, 2007.

About Prospect House

From the Irish flag blowing gently in the electronic breezes gusting around the outside of the building, to the elegant, sophisticated furnishings that decorate its inviting 3D interior, you'll find that our Second Life premises have been built with precisely the same degree of thought and attention to detail as their two dimensional counterpart—this website.

Meet Your CV Assessors

As you would expect, our virtual CV clinic is staffed by two of our most sought after CV specialists: Aoife Birke and Eoin Gilruth. Both have been with us since the inception of the business, and both possess unparalleled understanding of the complex realm of CV planning, formulation and revision.

Aoife's responsibilities are twofold—she acts as liaison, welcoming you into the world of Second Life, and also as an Assessor, casting her seasoned eye over client CVs during particularly busy evenings.

Eoin, in contrast, is our full-time CV Assessor; he is the individual most likely to review your document, dedicating up to a quarter of any given evening's clinic time to the analysis and advancement of your existing curriculum vitae.

How the Assessment Works

Like all the best things in life (and Second Life), some effort is required to gain access to this entirely free service. If you don't yet feel ready to dive into the metaverse, as it's known, don't worry—our regular CV Evaluation option is still available, and provides an equally thorough, albeit less compelling, analysis of the strengths and weaknesses of your most important business document.

Still want in on the Second Life action? Here is what you'll need to do first:

1. Sign up for Second Life.

2. Download the Second Life Viewer.

3. Submit your CV for assessment any weekday between 6 and 7 p.m.

4. Teleport to our headquarters in Nedben (Link requires Second Life Viewer).

5. That's it! Aoife will greet you on arrival, and take care of you from there.
